Just some videos I put together of my venus fly traps. All footage was shot and edited by me and is my original work. Mainly compilations of them catching and eating insects. I have owned them since around 2007, and they fascinate me. This led me to look into other carnivorous plants like sundews and nepenthes. My next purchase will probably be pitcher plants and maybe some different types of flytraps. I will try to put together some tutorials and self help videos for their care in the future. I have a pretty amateur setup, and shoot/edit everything on my iphone. I do my best with what I have. Thank you all for the subs and views. This has been a lot of fun for me :)

Thank you all for the subs and kind comments. I do this for fun, and this does really mean a lot to me. I never dreamed I would have reached 10,000 subscribers when I first began. I honestly never thought I was going to reach 100 to be honest. I know what I do is pretty amateur, and I'm glad so many seem to enjoy the vids :)
I've gathered some footage of my Venus flytraps feeding that I hope you'll enjoy. I also spied flies making a quickie on my deck and have featured my cats. I had to show a spider at the end because they fascinate me.

If they lose their footing they can fall in the pitcher and drown in the digestive juices! Not much action, but I hope you enjoy!

Join me on Facebook! NewbBeginnings Venus flytrap catches a fly. Got my camera fixed, and I am testing out the slow motion capability. Not a great video, but I hope some will enjoy. You can actually see the fly using its mouth to "lick" the side of the trap. I thought it was neat. My traps are a bit slower as we approach fall. They are still quick enough to catch food though!

An update for my Venus flytraps after flowering. I sowed the seeds and a few weeks later we have two babies. The drosera spatula are growing, and the filiformis even more vigorously. Just showing the sprouts for anyone who cares. I have had some decent growth on the mature flytraps as well. Thanks for watching!!

I literally just fed one to my Venus flytrap and within 5 minutes my entire living room smelled like a stink bug. I had to take tweezers and pull it out so I could flush it 😖

The fly is the slowest insect to me now ! Since I figured out how to kill it without alarming it ! You wanna know how simple instead of hitting it the refuels way try to keep your palm straight and get your hand as close as possible slowly then bam the fly is dead ! It s a straight hit that doesnt alarm the fly with wind produced by the regular hit people are used to hit it !

I had one of those plants in a pot in my bedroom in the 70s. It didn't survive. No bugs.
